Tucked away on the East coast of Mauritius, Poste Lafayette beach is a windswept hideaway with jagged shoreline and powerful waves. Astonishingly, one side of the beach is wild with waves crashing and the other a calm shallow lagoon.

At the entrance of the beach, there is a historical memorial as a reminder of the loss of one civilian and six members of the Special Mobile Force of Mauritius who died in a sea tragedy in 1964.

The wild landscape with amber sand, volcanic rocks, turquoise waters and “filao” trees create a dreamy atmosphere. An escape for quiet reflection or ocean-driven thrills.

Activities to do; kitesurfing, windsurfing, pedalo, parasailing, strolls, picnics, shore fishing, kayaking, horse riding and more.

Nearby, there are public toilets, parking and local vendors selling snacks and drinks.
